NILE (Northern International Livestock Exposition) Bull Riders Invitational: This event brings together the top cowboys and the toughest bulls for two nights of heart stopping action. This professional bull riders’ sanctioned event is part of the Bud Light Cup Series.

Little Bighorn Days and Custer’s Last Stand Reenactment: This celebration of cultural heritage takes place in Hardin honoring the anniversary of the historic Battle of the Little Bighorn. Western style street dances, quilt shows, parades, chuck wagon feeds and a carnival offer a taste of western fun. Weekend closest to June 25th, the battle anniversary.

Strawberry Jazz & Arts Festival: Over 25 food vendors, all with something strawberry, welcome summer to Billings with this delicious fruit. Enjoy entertainment, live music, arts & crafts and children’s activities throughout a three-block area in Downtown Billings. Second Saturday in June.


Summer Fair: Outdoor arts and crafts fair featuring some of the area’s most accomplished artisans. Spend a day under Montana’s Big Sky enjoying fine art, live entertainment and concessions to benefit the Yellowstone Art Museum. Saturday and Sunday in mid-July.

Clark Day: In 1806, Captain William Clark and crew traveled down Montana’s Yellowstone River to its confluence with the Missouri River. Just outside of present day Billings, Captain Clark left the only remaining physical evidence of this epic western journey: his signature etched into the sandstone bluff. Clark Day honors the historic discovery with reenactments, entertainment and interpretations of the journey. Sunday closest to July 25 anniversary.

Big Skyfest: The largest balloon event in the Northwest with over 60 colorful and unique hot air balloons decorating the Big Sky of Montana. The festivities include a western - style carnival, craft booths and entertainment. End of July.

MontanaFair: Montana’s largest event features a carnival, top name country western music performers, rodeos, horse racing, and midway acts. Exhibits, craft booths and livestock displays give a real western state fair experience. Second full week of August.

Mexican Fiesta: Ethnic food and beverage booths, hand-made goods, live music and more attract visitors to this celebration of Mexican cultural heritage. This festive event combines the Cinco de Mayo (Fifth of May) and Diez-Siez de Septembre (16th of September) celebrations.

Crow Fair: Teepee Capitol of the World. People from all over the world come to Crow Agency at the Little Bighorn River to camp-out in Native American teepees and attend the Crow Nation’s premier powwow. Cultural parades, rodeos, and dance competitions daily. Third weekend in August.

NILE-Stock Show & Rodeo: Experience world-class rodeo action, livestock and trade shows and western entertainment. The NILE welcomes everyone into the world of agriculture and western life.

Chase Hawks Memorial Roughstock Invitational Rodeo: Top-name cowboys compete during this high-intensity roughstock invitational. Get warmed up to the western hospitality at the Chase Hawks Cowboy Gatherin’ Dinner Dance the evening prior to the rodeo.

Christmas Stroll: Browse unique western stores and boutiques and antique malls while strolling historic, wintry downtown Billings. Vendors, carolers, carriage rides and special holiday tours of the turn-of-the-century Moss Mansion are also available. First Friday in December.
